My Testimony

As I was creating the 21-day guided prayer journal for communication in the last couple of weeks, something interesting happened in my research. The Holy Spirit kept reminding me to open up about something I had held on to for months, because I didn’t want to be an inconvenience to my husband.

As a wife and mother, sometimes it’s easier to ignore my needs and focus on providing comfort for everyone else. But the problem is that, if that need is important, it can easily be used by the devil to create a rift between husband and wife.

“and do not give the devil a foothold.”
Ephesians 4:27 NIV

I lacked the right words to speak up because I had kept quiet for too long and when I did try to speak, I wasn’t direct and instead tried to give him clues (which rarely works by the way). On the last day of finishing the communication prayer journal, I asked God to give me the right words at the right time. The very day I said this prayer, we had the longest and warmest conversation about it, something I had been unable to talk about for months.

I think sometimes we fail to use the help available to us as christians. The Bible clearly says that we should not be anxious and instead we should pray. (Read Phil 4:6)
God is a present help and I pray that if you have something in your heart that needs to be said, you will submit it to God and let Him help you.
Pray for courage, wisdom, patience and understanding. Pray also that you know when to get help, and ask Him to guide you to the right place or person. God tells us, to submit our plans to Him and He will establish them for us.
