3 Prayers For Marriage Restoration After Adultery

Adultery is one of the most painful trials a Christian wife can face. You may have given your best, stayed faithful, and done what you believed was right, yet still found yourself betrayed and brokenhearted. Say this prayer for marriage restoration after adultery in faith and continue to pray as the Holy Spirit leads. 

No amount of words can take away the pain you may be feeling, but our able and loving God understands your pain. Jesus Himself was rejected and abandoned by those closest to Him. I encourage you to. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 NIV). God is with you through this season, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; (Isaiah 43:2).

Pray for your heart posture, the ability to forgive your husband and heal after adultery

Dear Lord, You alone know the pain and betrayal I feel in my heart. You have promised to stay close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18). Please heal my broken heart and save my crushed spirit, Lord. Restore Your peace in my heart and give me hope. 

Psalm 147:3 : “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Soften my heart and help me release all the anger, bitterness, and resentment that I hold. I no longer want to carry these heavy feelings with me; therefore, I surrender them to You. Help me also, forgive my husband even as Christ forgave me (Col 3:13)

Ask God for wisdom on what to do when your husband has h add d an affair. 

Give me wisdom and discernment, because You know what is ahead of me. Instruct me and teach me in the way I should go for “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. “(Psalms 119:105). I want to rely on You only and not the world or my own understanding. Therefore, I ask that You teach me how to pray and help me recognize Your voice.

Pray for your faith, trust, and obedience in your marriage restoration journey after an affair

Father, I want to please You. Give me faith and help me obey Your instructions. Take away the fear and anxiety in my heart and guard my heart and mind with peace beyond human understanding (Philippians 4:7). Encourage me when I feel weary and remind me of Your faithfulness. 

Lord, where I have disobeyed You and conformed to the patterns of this world, I plead for mercy and forgiveness. Destroy every thought and imagination that sets itself against Your knowledge, and transform me by the renewal of my mind. Help me take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ ( 2 Cor 10:5). Remove any obstacles to my obedience and work in me to will and to act in order to fulfill Your good purpose (Phil 2:13)
