How to Do the Armored Wife Challenge (Step-by-Step Guide)

Hi Armored Wife,

Thank you for being part of this challenge! I pray that the Lord honors your faith and gives you the desires of your heart according to His will.

In this guide, I’ve broken down the steps to help you understand how to do your challenge.

What’s the challenge about?

The Armored Wife Challenge is designed to empower you and help you pray intentionally for your marriage. Every month, you’ll receive:

  • A book title to read

  • Weekly scriptures to reflect on

  • Prayer prompts to guide your conversations with God

The Armored Wife Challenge Workbook is free. But if you’re the kind of wife who wants to go deeper, we also have The Armored Wife Monthly Prayer Journal with daily prompts.

Step 1: Download and print your workbook

Once you receive the monthly workbook, go ahead and download it. Printing it makes it easier to use and interact with.

For example, in Month 3:

If you’re unable to print, no worries! You can read it on your phone and use a separate journal to write your notes and prayers.

Step 2: Set the time and place

Choose a specific time and place to do your challenge—ideally somewhere quiet with minimal interruptions. I encourage you to do it in the morning, right after your Bible study, so you don’t forget.

Purchase the book of the month at your local bookstore, or get a soft copy on Amazon, Kindle, Kobo US, or other online stores.

You’ll read about 3–4 chapters a week, depending on the book. Divide the chapters in a way that fits your schedule so you can finish them by the end of the week.

To do the challenge, you’ll need:

  • Your Bible

  • The monthly workbook (print it if possible)

  • The book of the month

  • A pen

Step 3: How to do the actual challenge

Start with prayer.
Before you begin, ask the Holy Spirit to prepare your heart. He’ll guide you, comfort you, and even remind you of things you may need to reflect on or pray over.

Write out the suggested scriptures.
I’ve left out the actual verses on purpose, so you can open your Bible and read for yourself. Writing them out will help you remember and meditate on them more deeply.

If you’re using the 21-Day Armored Wife Prayer Journal, you’ll find a daily scripture and prayer prompt already provided for you.

Read the selected chapters.
As you read, note down anything that stands out, such as goals, memories, ideas, or prayer points. Your notes will also help you look back and track answered prayers over time.

Close with prayer.
Submit your plans to God and take a moment to repent where needed. Let your heart stay open before Him.

“In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:6 NIV
