A Prayer for Your Husband’s Mind and Thoughts

Your husband’s mind is a battleground where he constantly faces the choice to follow the desires of the flesh (sinful nature) or the desires of the Spirit. He cannot win this battle by himself, only through Christ in him. This post will help you pray for your husband’s mind and thoughts to be renewed and to think thoughts that are pleasing and acceptable to God. 

Romans 8:6 NIV

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 

A Prayer For Your Husband’s Mind and Thoughts 

Dear Lord, I invite You in my husband’s mind and ask that You search His heart, test him and see his anxious thoughts, see if there is any offensive way in him and lead him in Your way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). Show him where he sins in his thoughts so that he may repent. Strengthen my husband and help him put to death whatever belongs to his earthly nature (Col 3:5).

Help him stay alert and of a sober mind (1 Peter 5:8). Let him not become conceited, provoking and envying others (Gal 5:26). Instead let him take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor 10:5)

When he feels anxious and worried about the issues of life, I pray that you encourage him and remind  him that You will never leave him nor will you forsake him (Heb 13:5). 

Help him put his trust in You and not rely on his own understanding. 

When he feels powerless and thinks of himself as a weak person, I pray that you remind him that You have given him a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). Deliver his mind from the lies of the enemy and bring down every stronghold of the enemy in his mind. Help him believe that You have given him authority to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)

Keep him in perfect peace and guide him to put first Your Kingdom and You will provide for all his other needs in Jesus name, I pray, Amen

Pray for your husband to have Godly thought patterns 

2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Lord, guide my husband to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 

Pray against your husband’s fear and anxiety 

Philippians 4:6 NIV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Dear Lord, please help my husband to not be anxious about anything but bring every request to You in prayer and petition with thanks giving. 

Pray for a renewal of your husband’s mind

Romans 12:2 NIV

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Dear Father, strengthen my husband so that he will not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but help him be transformed by the renewing of his mind.

Pray  for your husband’s mental health

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Lord, please encourage and remind my husband to not be afraid or dismayed, but to put his trust in You, because You will help him and uphold him with Your righteous right hand. Heal him where he is broken-hearted and renew his strength when he grows weary.

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 

Dear Lord, deliver my husband from temptation, and guide him to put to death sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed which is idolatry.

Pray for your husband’s peace and rest

Isaiah 26:3 NIV

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Oh Father, keep my husband in perfect peace. 

Pray for your husband’s focus

Colossians 3:2 NIV

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 

Dear Lord, please help my husband to stay focused on the things above and not on earthly things. Let him put You first and delight in You and You will give him the desires of his heart in Jesus name, Amen
