A powerful prayer for your husband’s Leadership

Your husband has been given the authority to be the head, but he needs God’s guidance and wisdom to lead well. Without God, he may become overwhelmed, discouraged, or even abandon his post when things get difficult. Pray for your husband’s leadership with this powerful prompt. Pray for his wisdom, discernment, and confidence in every decision, responsibility, and plan.

Do not be discouraged if it feels like your husband isn’t yet the leader your family needs. Instead, invite God to help him grow in the role by praying for his leadership. For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose (Philippians 2:13).

Heavenly Father,
I submit my husband into Your hands and ask that You guide him as he leads our family. Give him wisdom, discernment, and confidence in every decision, responsibility, and plan. Help him rely on You and not on his own understanding. Wherever he feels stuck, tired, overwhelmed, discouraged, confused, sick, or afraid, please show him the way clearly and strengthen him with Your presence.

Forgive him for his sins, Lord, and teach him to honour You. Lead him to pray and to submit his burdens to You in faith. Let him lead our home according to Your will and purpose, and help me and our children to honour, respect, and support him in his God-given role.

Guide him and instruct him in the way he should go, with Your loving eye upon him (Psalm 32:8). Protect him from harm and cover him in every direction. Give him courage, health, and strength to be the husband and father You have called him to be. Surround him with a strong, godly support system and many wise advisers.

Help me, Lord, to believe in him, encourage him, and respect his position. Teach me to uplift him rather than criticise him, and to always trust You to shape his leadership. I pray that my husband will be respected not just in our family but in every area of his life.

Bless him, Lord, and let Your hand be with him. Keep him from harm so that it will not bring him pain (1 Chronicles 4:10). May our family please You in all that we do.
